From America’s Test Kitchen?

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups + 2 tbsp (10.6oz) Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 12 tbsp Melted, butter
  • 1 Cup (7oz) Light brown sugar
  • 1/2 Cup (3.5oz) Sugar
  • 1 Egg + 1 Yolk
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1.5 (9oz) Semisweet Chocolate Chips

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Beat butter and sugar until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add egg and vanilla. Beat till combined.
  5. Add flour in 3 additions untill just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Roll into 2 tbsp balls space 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
  8. Bake (1 sheet at a time) for 20 minutes each.
  9. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving

Notes

  • Slap the pan on the counter half way through baking and after
  • Leave a slice of bread in the jar, after cookies are stored, to make cookies softer
